large old HOLY bible, with the new and old testiments. i cant find any dates at all in it. it says Rev. John Brown. Adam and Company(more writting but cant really make it out in the picure) London. has color pictures, some fold out pictures, rice paper covering the pictures. i found an old bookmarker in the bible and in hand writing on the back theres a date 18-looks like 46,16 or 76. (the pic im lookin at i can not really see the date very good) all pages are there, but the spine is off but still with it, the spine is wierd theres like another picture of trees or something under the covering. there is some water damage on some pages at the bottom, but the pages are not wavy or anything. the bible is kept closed by 2 metal claps. some pages are a little tear on side but all there. I know it sounds bad, but I think, considering the date on the bookmark, its in fairly good shape. i do have the bible at my house but its packed away in my sons trunk in a box, its been in since I got it. it is quit big and heavy for a bible.

I have seen many of these huge old Bibles. They date from the 1800's. Most people back then had these "family" Bibles and small ones they used at church. Most people had their family births and deaths logged in and are a great way to trace a family. In good shape they can sell for less than $150.00.

Values for books depends a lot on condition and not just age. This one is in poor condtion, I'd doubt you'd get moer than $20.00 for it .
