Re: Lemieux China 24k gold Chocolate pot set
I just received this exact set. My beloved Mom just passed away. It came with the gold plated cups and saucers, and the tray. Alas, the beautiful chocolate pot itself was broken beyond repair. I've been looking for another one. It reminded me so much of my mother who loved this set. It was given to her by my father when he came back from WWII. I see you are not interested in selling it, but if you ever were, that is, sell the pot, or I would purchase the entire set, please let me know. It's easy to go online and see the value of this and other Le Mieux sets, so you don't have to take my word for it. Actually they still are not that valuable. The cups and saucers go for about $30, and the tray for about $90. The pot is about the same. You can also see at times this on sale on e-Bay, or you can go to replacements.com and search for Le Mieux China. They have a great deal of it, though most of it is now out of stock. The value is not in the price, but in the memories for most people. There is a misconception that somehow these were made in France at a special factor that was "destoryed during WWII". Actually that is not true. Virtually all of these per WWII sets (which is the one of), were actually made here in the USA. The blanks were made somewhere in mid-America, most likely Chicago, and then there were several other company's in the US that did the gold leafing and decoration. All the design, gold leaf and decoration on these were hand done. I hope this helps, and again, if you ever think about selling it, or want any most information, please contact me.
