Morrocan Carving?

By BonnieLee, 16 November, 2010
Description

A friend bought me this carving and said it was from a Morrocan market and was from the 1-3 century AD. on one sleeve of the garment there appears to be some faded gilding? It looks like it is covered in Gesso? Is this really old or just a "knock off" of an original? I would like to know anything about this piece and its value. Thank you!
