Original Virgil Earp Cabinet Photo With History

By 1oldrelic, 25 January, 2009
Description

This photo is guaranteed to be authentic and is an earlier photo taken prior to Tombstone.  I have quite a bit of history that places Virgil in Marion, Ohio.  Virgil belonged to the Iowa 4th Infantry during the Civil War until its conclusion.  He was married there and then left briefly coming back to live several more years before heading west.  Also this is verified on several research sites on Virgil Earp.  Further, Waldron and Wilson were doing photos in the mid 1870s and became well known by the 1880s.  Many of their photos are a part of a historic collection featuring the Ohio state at that time.  Virgil Earp worked in his later years in Prescott, AZ.  Prescott is only 35 miles from where this photo was taken.  This photo was was prabably carried by Virgil and was part of his decor while living in Tombstone.  This is a truly historic piece from a celebrated era and historic event.
