Parlor table, 2-tier, claw-and-ball

By planckera, 12 November, 2017
Description

Greetings! I'm interested in finding out the time period and where this item was made. It was found in our grandparents' house, and I'm wondering if it might have been passed down through the family. Thanks for your help!

Re: Parlor table, 2-tier, claw-and-ball

It dates from the turn of the 19th century, similar pieces can found  in mailorder catalogs from the late 1890's by companies such as Montgomery-Ward or Sears- Roebuck. Values peaked for furniture like this last in the late 1980's, demand has dropped considerably since then. At auction they often now sell for under $100.00.
