Plate - possibly Satsuma?

By mapleleafs, 20 January, 2009
Description

Have tried to do some research and the only thing I've come up with is the indentation looks like the Shimazu clan mark on Satsuma ware.  Also I believe it is earthenware as it doesn't 'ring' when tapped.  There is a fine, even crackle all over and the background is yellowish grey.  It is definitely handpainted, I have a second one with the same pattern but the flowers are a bit smaller and some of the leaves are in different places etc.  There are imperfections in the plate itself, tiny bumps here and there etc.  The plate itself does look quite old.  There are no chips and cracks in either of them.
