Reed & Barton Tea Pot

Description

I have this tea pot made by Reed & Barton.  On the bottom is says Reed & Barton; 875; 1 Portion; Pat: Feb 16, 1898; United Hospital.  It is about 4" tall; I haven't tried cleaning it as of yet.  I can not find too much information on it.  Could you tell me anything about it and how much it is worth?

Metal of some sort. Like a shiny silver color inside but like a dark tarnished look outside.
Distinguishing marks
It's quite heavy for it size It has some wear on either sides of the middle fat part.
