Santa "NRA" Claus

By jenifr121, 14 June, 2013
Description

A 1933 Christmas edition of The Family Circle Magazine

Published December 15th, 1933 Volume 3 Number 24

The cover is a painting by Tony Sarg

The painting is a scene depicting Santa Claus Posting a Wanted Poster soliciting the skills of a Toy Maker, Candy Cook and Reindeer. Santa is accompanied by a scared looking reindeer and has his toy sack behind him. The unique feature that makes this issue stand out is that both Santa's Wanted Poster and Toy Sack display the NRA logo. The magazine is in good condition physically.

History
I aquired this issue along with several others in the same time period from a friend who passed away. This issue grabbed my attention immediatley because of Santa's promotion of the NRA. Our current culture has a wide array of outlooks on anything gun related. Emotions often fuel debates on creating laws that limit public accessibility or lessen strictness to firearm ownership.
