What is this

By Banderson312, 4 December, 2013
Description

I recieved this item from my father a few years back. I wanted to know what it is maybe just junk or something really significant. Its made out of wood and appears to be handcarved and possibly old, so far I have had several suggestions ranging from native american to just down right silly answers!

Re: What is this

It looks to me to be an earhorn, sort of an early hearing aid.  The small end is held to the ear and the bowl is aimed to what one wishes to hear better.
