Long Description
I first became interested in this simply-crafted, but still sturdy wooden box when I noticed the ancient print on the front: "Milk Biscuits". Obviously a large wooden box for shipping biscuits came from a different era! Upon closer examination, I noticed an engraving on the darkened, peeling paper covering the side. It showed detail of a factory, apparently the factory that produced the biscuits.Ā Above it was printed the factory name:Ā Soltzenbach Biscuit Co.;Ā Zanesville, OH. Horse-drawn carriages, ladies in bustles, and and cobblestone filled the foreground. I found no information on the web about this factory, but would love to know more about when and where this box was made, and how much it's worth.
