Accurate Description of Item
One Walnut Louis Philippe Cabinet, Circa 1845
Appraiser Remarks
Louis Philippe Style has been popular since the time it came into existence in the mid 1800s. It is essentially French style furniture but has gained such popularity that it is adopted by many of the contemporary designers. The distinct features of Louis Philippe Style are the simple lines with soft rounding of the edges made of solid wood.

Mostly solid and darker woods like mahogany, palissandre and walnut are used for making Louis Philippe Style furniture. There are sleigh beds, tables, secretaries and armories all made in this style which look very attractive and elegant. Countertop and table-top surfaces are sometimes topped with marble. The grain of solid wood adds to the classic finish and overall look of furniture
