I do know that is a desk produced by the Leopold Desk Company and has a metal tag on the drawer of the desk. It appears it was produced in 1937 or shortly after. I still have the key to the desk.

History
I received the desk from a friend. The friend received the desk from an elderly woman who he had worked on her home.
The company was incorporated in 1886 as the Northwestern Furniture Company. The name was changed to The Rand & Leopold Desk Company. And finally the name evolved to Leopold Company. During this period, the officers of the company remained the same: C. W. Rand, President, Carl A. Leopold, Secretary, Treasurer and Manager. The product of the company was originally book cases and side boards. In the prime of the company, the products were office desks with a capacity of 30,000 desks per year. Desks were shipped to all parts of the world. As a note, the largest percentage of the foreign business was to South Africa. The company closed March 3, 1990. Due to the huge volume of production of desks like this, values for them today are pretty modest, many like this one now sell for less than $150.00 ata auction.
