moonshine jugs

By junkcollector99, 30 May, 2015
Description

I just purchased these two moonshine jugs today.  Here is what I know.  They are not reproductions.  The couple I purchased them from are elderly and they were from the wife's mother's estate. The wife's mother was in Ohio, but the wife said from the research she did, the jugs are from Kentucky. The smaller solid color jug is about eight inches tall and the two-tone jug is about eleven inches tall.  The smaller jug feels quite a bit heavier than the taller jug so I think it's made of a different material.  Possibly, the small jug is stoneware, and the large jug is ceramic.  I am curious to know if anyone out there might know what I have here.  I have taken photos of both jugs and I don't see any markings on the bottom of either jug.  Any information would be appreciated.
