Hand-painted Nippon tea set

Description

My mom gave me this Tea set which means a lot to her but she also needs to pay for assisted-living so this must go. Would like to get some knowledge and would it be worth. Thank you

I know it's accented with gold but I know it's really light. so whatever it is it's very light
Distinguishing marks
On the bottom has a green stamp I can read the words (Nippon), (hand) and looks like (painted) but that last word is kind of hard to make out

I would say the teapot is 16" inches and the cups are maybe 3"

I want to have the slightest idea how my mom got it
