Hi. Here is a 14k yellow gold ring with an aquamarine stone with two diamonds on either side of it. It is stamped "14k" but I could not get a close-up of the hallmark. The aquamarine is approximately 10mm by 7mm. I have a diamond detector thingy, and the diamonds make it beep, indicating they are real. The ring weighs 2.4 grams.
This ring was given to my mother in the mid to late 1930's by her aunt. I do not know when the aunt came into possession of the ring. She was born in the late, late 1800s. I'm assuming that she received the ring sometime in 1900 to 1925. I don't know if it makes a difference, but the family is from Connecticut and are of English and Irish descent. Of course, my great aunt is deceased, but the family remains in Connecticut.
The ring has beautiful filigree work on it.
Thank you so much.
Susan
Re: Antique aquamarine and diamond ring
I don't know why some of the pictures uploaded sideways on the site. They are all right side up on my computer. Sorry about that.
Re: Antique aquamarine and diamond ring
You really need to have this physically examined by a gemologist. Values for rings like this depend a great deal on the quality of the stones, which cannot be determined by photos.
