Medieval Antique Spiked Flail & Axe with Shield wall Decor

By Epiphany13, 26 June, 2018
Description

I have something that I don't know a lot about. I bought it at a rummage sale. I was attracted to it right away. I realized this is old, I can see where it was done by hand with the metal has a hammered look and the wood has carving marks on it as well. Can someone please help me with this? The only markings on this are like a stamp but there is no color change itws like its pressed on. It states "Made in Spain"???

Thank You,

Justin

Re: Medieval Antique Spiked Flail & Axe with Shield wall Decor

Pieces with full country of origin markings like "Made in Spain" tend to post date the early 1920's. Pieces like this went through to periods of popularity, the 1920's and again in the 1950's as "Spanish Revival". Similar pieces are still in production and sold through Import /Export outlets. Most of these sell for under $75.00 at auction.
