I have a beautifully restored Solid Oak Rolltop Desk. Made in "Vernon, California by Oak Crest Manufacturing" post 1890. I believe its considered an "executive boss' size rolltop. Possibly with an "S" curve shape vs. a "C". It comes apart into two, very heavy sections (top &bottom) for easier moveability. On the top half: there are x16 mini index filing drawers, x11 misc. open face slots &x2 vertical mini cabinets. There are x8 horizontal drawers plus x2 misc. pull out drawers. X1 more mini cabinet with the original locking skeleton key included. Directly in the middle of the top portion of the desk: is a drawer with a light fixture. It has yet to be tested due to the need for a replacement cord. The current one looks frayed and dangerous to plug in. The rolltop cover itself is in tact but is currently carefully clipped up so that it doesn't move. Because it seems to be caught on something &I dont want to rip it by pulling it down. It is however- present &in good condition, thus far. The bottom half of the desk: has a large horizontal lap tray that slides out &has a soft, clean fabric that lines the inside divider trays. Under the desk, by the feet: are two large "hidden" cupboard doors that swing out to reveal a hide-a-shelf for long skinny items such as liquor &documents, etc. There is an internal wooden lever that allows for a locking capability for the lower x2 horizontal drawers &x1 large filing drawer on either side of the leg opening where a chair would be placed. Lastly, is a thin pullout board (similar to a kitchen cutting board) on the left side of the desk. It is an extremely sturdy design with smooth slide-out drawers &flawless dovetail joints. There are several minor scratches &one shallow nick about 3/4" long on the top desk surface but it could very possibly be mended easily. I just didn't want to do it incorrectly. There is NO WATER DAMAGE &ABSOLUTELY NO WARPING, SPLINTERING, or STRIPPING OF ANY OF THE WOOD!!! It is approximately 75.5in wide x 38in deep x 52.5in tall. The BEST PART ABOUT THE DESK IS THAT IT HAS SEVERAL HIDDEN COMPARTMENTS LIKE THAT WHICH WERE USED IN THE PROHIBITION TO HIDE LIQUOR &FAMILY HEIRLOOMS.
