Description
I live in New York City and I've recently come into possession of what appears to be a Herter Brothers eight-drawer highboy. I bought it for $300 from a thrift shop. I think it may be worth more than that, given the tremendous influence the Herter Brothers had on interior design during the gilded age. (Heck, they have pieces in the MET!)

It's in fair to poor shape. Most notably, there is a handle missing. However, the design and craftsmanship are still stunning, and it does bear the trademark "Herter Bro's" stamp on the back (pictured). The piece has a simpler design than most of what I'm seeing online by Herter Bros. Perhaps it's more a part of the american aesthetic movement than the Egyptian revivalism they seem to be known for.

Would love to know what you think of the piece, and how much it might be worth. Look forward to hearing!
