Afghan sword

Description

Afghan sword originally made and gifted as dowry. Dates to 1730s and inscriptions reads a poem to the bride. It is said that it was used in an ambush on English elite troops traveling through the Khaibar pass in mid 1800s. Bought from an Afghan antique dealer in Kabul 1969.
