1890's? Elgin Natl Watch Co. Pocket Watch w/ 14 karat gold case.

Description This pocket Watch belonged to my grandfather whom I never met. My dad believes this watch is from the 1890's and originally used to belong to his father's father. It's from the Elgin Natl Watch Co Serial number 3491241 Case is made from 14k. The watch is missing the glass face as well as the one hand from the bottom area. I'm just wondering what this watch might be worth in the condition it's in and possibly the exact year it's from. Also, what the design is called on the back of the case.
