Crystal Chandelier

Category
Lamps and Chandeliers
Condition
Excellent
Description

Was in our home when we purchased.

Previous owners stated they bought the chandelier in the "bowery" in NYC.

Chandelier is very large and heavy - individual crystal pieces.

Hung very high so I haven't taken exact measurements.

Just looking for general ideas about the item.

This is a what i believe to be 1970 yertle the turtle pull string toy from mattel.  The turtle still talks and says his qwerky phrases when you pull the string.  He has a dark green shell and a bright green head and black rubber hair.  *THE PICTURE included is not my own but it looks just like the one in the photo, maybe better condition.

Straightback Wooden Chair 2

Category
Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

I got this chair to paint and use.  Like the other one I got, maybe it's a lot older than I thought.

Would appreciate any info re: its age and origins, $$ value.

Please note that the "tacks" appear to be wooden pegs that look like tacks.  The spindles in back are definitely handmade - the lines in them are uneven.

Should it be fully restored?

Or can I just paint it without destroying an antique?

Thank you very much!!

Would appreciate any info re: its age and origins, $$ value - if any.

Should it be fully restored (note leg damage)?

Or can I just paint it without destroying an antique?

1950 Lane Cedar Chest

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

This lovely piece has been in my immediate family since it was new.  It still has the strong scent of cedar as it has not been opened very frequently.  The green felt on the shelf is in great condition.  It has four inlaid lighter vertical cedar stripes on the front and two long horizonal strips on the curved edge at the top and carved bottom.  It has a couple of dings and scratches as it has been moved several times, but is in very good condition overall.  It has all original parts and hardware including the Lane push-button lock on the front, but I have lost the key unfortunately.  The wood grain and shine (original) on this particular 61-year old piece are extraordinarily beautiful.
