it's been in the family a long time. not sure how old it is!i think it's the late 18th century not sure if it's silver or silver plated, the hallmarks, it has a crown with the letters BP then the letter S then 3 other markins i'm unsure of, would be greatful for any help, thank you

It's turn of the 19th century and it's most likely silverplated britannia metal ( a form of hard pewter). Values for such pieces are modest in the current market, at auction these pieces often sell for less than $50.00.
