Cast Iron Mechanical Pig in High Chair Bank

Category
Antique Toys
Condition
Excellent
Description

This is a cast iron mechanical bank depicting a pig in a high chair.  You place a coin on the dish it is holding and press a lever in the back which tips the dish up so the coin goes into its mouth.  There is a metal disk in the bottom that lets you get the money out.  On the bottom it is stamped that it was patented in August 1897.  I Googled a description and got a web page from Bargain John Antiques in Nebraska where a duplicate item had sold for $1700, but he is not interested in purchasing this.

This piece was in a closet among the belongings of my partner, who has died and I am heir and executor of his estate.  It was put away throughout the years I knew him so I had not seen it before and there's no story of where or how he got it, presumably from his grandmother who died in her 90s many decades ago.

I live in a very small house - a lifestyle choice - and would like to see this sold to someone who will give it a place of enjoyment and respect.

GUCCI BOSTON BAG - SUEDE AND LEATHER

Category
General Antiques and Collectibles
Condition
Good
Description

Everything seems to be Gucci.  The only thing that i am questioning is, that there is no leather strip for bottom of bag that seems to be on most Gucci bags I see that are similar and listed or sold online.  Also, Gucci tends to use a more extravagant zipper on their bags, yet this bag has just a basic YKK zipper on it.  Could It have been added on at a later date because the real zipper broke, or this is just a very old version of the Gucci Boston Bag?   Was the signature 'Made in Italy Gucci' patch sown on?   Not sure!  Thats why I am here, to see if anyone can tell me if it is authentic Gucci, and if not does it still hold value for being an old Boston Bag thats in very good shape and can still be a functional usable bag today?

Colonial S.Bent Rocking Chair

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Excellent
Description

Excellent condition. Tried to research and found only 1 other but it had been painted. Found it could be maple or recovered in maple by manufacture.

Given to me by my father in 1972. Hardly used. Would like to know how much it is worth. Not sure if I will keep it.

14th Century Monk Coral Pages

Category
Decorative Arts
Condition
Good
Description

These are pages from a 14th-century monk's coral book.  (framed).

The pages are cow hide parchment and were of Spanish origin as the letters are Spanish round gothic.  There is some damage to the corners of the pages (it was stored in an attic for many years).

The pages are from a book believed to be used for daily use, as the book only had a few illuminated letters (only colored, no gold leaf).
