The cameo depicts a scene with two men and a dog in front of a brick wall, a tree, and a fence. There is also a house and the outline of a shadow of a village in the background. It has a metal frame; I'm not sure what the frame is made of--it may be gold, but is tarnished. The pearls that surround the perimeter are slightly deteriorated with age, and two appear to be missing. It has a double clasp on the back -- my grandmother said she even wore it as a child, and was always losing it, so her parents put a second "safety" clasp on. One clasp is essentially a safety pin attached to a chain, and the other is a pin that stretches across the width with a circular lock on it, similar to modern pins.
This plate is obviously a hand made plate. The plate is thick. I was told at the time that is is Quimper but I have been unable to find anything like it to compare. The glaze is in good condition with a few chips around the edge. The colors are very vibrant blue and yellow.
This is a figure my dad bought in the late 1980s or early 1990s and I believe it is now discontinued, unfortunately there is no plaque under the base or anywhere on it identifying its name, model, serial number or anything like that. I assume it is a depiction of Napoleon or at least a French Soldier riding a white horse on its hind legs. At most it has 2 paper brochures attached by string to one of the horse legs. On the back of one however there are hand written numbers. Can anyone please help me identify this figure, its name, history, and value? Thank you very much.
