Empire Library Desk - Table

Category
Furniture
Condition
Fair
Description

The table is in fair condition but missing the drawers . You will notice that the drawer slots are filled as I am doing my best to make replacements (just need to make the fronts with pulls remaining)
Then, my intent is to spruce it up to a good and usable condition...keeping the time age scars intact.
The legs are interesting.
Please see the pictures. They tell you more.

Antique Burl Wood Hand Carved 3 Piece Bed Set (European)

Category
European Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

My family has owned a farm house forever and it is now sadly being sold (too much upkeep). I have inherited this beautiful old bed set and I have no space for it and no idea what to do with it. I know very little about the set other than that it came over to Maine by boat sometime in the very early 1900s and it has basically just sat in that room ever since. My extended family is Scottish but I don't know if that has any relevance.

The detail in the wood carving is really lovely and although the pieces aren't in perfect condition they look pretty good for their age. The dresser has an attached mirror and the dresser and nightstand(?) both have marble tops. There are 3 pieces total.

The bed is a full size, and it's a little short in length by today's standards. Parts of the headboard are made of burl wood and the rest is made of some hardwood, mahogany maybe? We call it the "captain's bed" because it was in the sea captain's room, but I don't think that has any real significance.

Any ideas as to its origin and worth would be greatly appreciated!

Lexington vanity with tri fold mirror

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Good
Description

This is a white (eggshell) Lexington vanity that I recently acquired at a yard sale it has a tri-fold mirror with the middle mirror being a full length and can be slid out and detached and 6 drawers the top drawer on each side has Lexington marking burned into the wood the bottom drawer on the right is missing it's pull. (an online search for this pull is what led me to believe it may be an antique) the middle section has grooved slots on each side that may have held a thin shelf i do not know if this is so it is just a guess and if there was such a shelf it is also missing. it is in really good shape with just a little chip on the bottom corner edge. I don't know the weight and would be hesitant to guess but it is much heavier than it looks. I really love this piece and don't wish to sell it just to know if I should strip and paint it as I had planned or take it somewhere special to be restored.
