We have three of these that appear to go together and may be replicas from the 1970's line done by a company out of Pennsylvania. I also have several others that have no markings at all and appear to be older.
After doing a little research of my own, I believe that this lamp might have been an oil lamp at one time and has been converted into an electric lamp. It is a Goofus style (paint on glass), "Poppy" embossed pattern. It is "The Gone With The Wind" lamp in "relief embossed poppy" pattern. AOD EP. It doesn't seem to be repainted. The paint is in excellent condition compared to some items I have seen. A few paint chips here and there. No chips or cracks in the glass. I would like to know how much this lamp is worth. This beautiful set was given to me by my grandmother who lived in Georgia. She had many very special pieces of silver.I would like to know the approximate value for potential sale.
This spanish desk was purchased by my grandparents at around 1930 for $500.00 from an antique store. They lived in Tampa Fl, but unkown as to where it was purchased. It is a sturdy spanish hardwood desk with a leather worktop and wrought iron bracing underneath. The leather on the desk and the chair is anchored with metal(not sure what kind)caps 1" in diameter that look like ornate flowers. There are two compartments at the rear of the worktop at the corners. they have painted pictures of matadors and bulls on the sloped tops. There is a headboard at the rear between the compartments that slopes down and then rises up in the center what appears to be three waves on either side meeting into what looks like a sea shell with three semi-circle holes under the shell. there is a drawer under the worktop. The desk and chair are remarkably comfortable.
