These are two collectible plates. One is still sealed in its box. The other is a picture of Mao Tse Tung in a satiric cartoon. There are german words under the drawing as if a quote.MaoTse Tung: "Wer Sich Auf Seinem Lorbeer Austruht, Tragt ihn Am Falschen Platz". Since the other box is unopened, I am not sure what it says. It may be a picture of Nixon. Should I open it? Pictures will follow if anyone knows what I should do! Thank you.
At least 40+ years old, as it was with my mom when I was a small kid; almost positive that it is carved out of wood - don't believe it was one piece - I think the arms were carved separate and then attached (but not sure). Hung on mother's wall until last year.
These lamps were left by a relative, we suspect she bought them in Europe.
I apologize, I don't know much else about them.
I am hoping to at least get a good description, if not a value, from the photos.
