This painting came in a group of high end 1950's paintings. I cannot figure out the name. I think the style and the fact that it has a Knoedler Gallery label on the reverse, means that it could be a listed artist. I tried Knoedler, but they could not find the record from that time frame, even though they did spend some time trying. I am desperate to figure out the artists name...does anyone reconize either the name, or the style? Can anyone help? Thanks very much!! Vincent
Very beautiful vase, although I have never used it, except to show it on a shelf.
Sepia toned, with pictures of pears and leaves on the front, and a rose with grapes on the back. Gold trim is in very good shape, and there are no chips or cracks.
I cannot though find anything about this particular mark. The mark is worn, yet the words Royal Teplitz are clearly visible. Royal on top, Teplitz underneath Royal There is a faded mark above the shield. Also there are numbers 124 and II scratched on the base. Very small ac on one of the feet....hard to read.
May sound funny, but the top of this vase always reminds me of open fish lips...it is not a circle, or oval or square. Outside finish is rough, not smooth like the inside, and appears to be like bone china because when held to the light, you can see the shadow of your hand.
This is a beautiful plate that is handpainte and been in my family forever. It has a plate number on the back with an original zhuanshu seal. Made during the Qianlond Dynasty in China. Theres also a C P C (communist party of china) Made in Macau sticker. there is also a sticker that states "for decorative purposes only not for food use." the plate is ov a flowre design and has a 2 vases and a table on the plate. there is also a small fret god.
This was part on an estate bequest. It was described as an 1810 candlestand. Has one leg repair seen in picture. May be original finish. Note: The finish is over the repair screws. And the legs do dovetail into the base.
