Just want to know more about this stamps meaning and history.

 Having trouble attaching pics.  It appears to have a lion and lioness kissingwith a couple of coins and possibly a shield upon their backs.  They are perched upon this square base, and there is text on two side of the base and chinese symbols/designs on the bottom.  The bottom is stained with blue ink from previous use.  Please email me if you want to see pics.  My email addy is [email protected]

This is a framed piece of paper that seems to be very old and discolored and it is the poem of 'Twas the night before christmas and at the bottom it has his signature. Underneath his signature it says this is a hand written copy of 1862 one year before his death. I will post a picture, but i havent scanned one to the computer yet.
