9 inch tall German beer stein. Piece has cone shapped pewter lid stamped with DGBM. Inside a triangle in the lid under the DGBM stamp is DRM. The banners on the stein have the inscription "BeiTanz undScherz bleibt jung das Herz". There is another banner with the inscription "Munchen HOFBRAU-HAUS". The bottom of the stein is stamped in the ceramic WESTERN GERMANY 6 and the Thewalt hallmark (A.J. Thewalt). In gold ink stamp is the word Hoffritz. There is a very small chip on the bottom. Any help you can provide would be GREATLY appreciated.
So we've had this 3-piece heavy wood set for several years, but have decided that it's just too cumbersome to move again. It demands a big space (as shown), and while I have always loved it framing my TV, it just isn't a practical option anymore. Each end cabinet has an upper and lower dual swinging door set, and the lower doors open to three big drawers while the upper has 3 large open shelves.
That being said, I don't want to dump this onto someone on Craigslist for only $50, either. I'd love to have a little more information about it, so I can value it accordingly. I plan on waxing it up before I post it (don't have to get rid of it until the end of the year), and making sure everything is in as good of condition as it can possibly be without adding/removing any of the original pieces.
I've tried to search online for something similar, but I can't find anything at all. While that's fairly exciting, because this could be some crazy unique piece (doubtful), it's also irritating because ultimately we just want to get rid of it without throwing money away.
First post on here, so any help i can get from you kind people would be greatly appreciated.
I would like to know more about this desk I inherited as I am not sure of its origin or approximate value and was hoping for some assistance. No one in my family seems to know much about it exept that it is very very old. It is in fantastic condition and is all original with a great natural greenish patina to it. The top has a mirrored glass finish that is original as well. All hand crafted with very little wear for it's age. There are 3 drawers and 3 wood extensions that slide out. Pictures really do not do it justice. There are no markings on it anywhere that would provide a hint of where it comes from. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This Saki Set was bought in Japan 30 years ago by my parents. They are in PRISTINE condition, no cracks, no chips, no wear on the paint. I believe its real gold paint accents, but I may be mistaken. I am looking to sell the set, but I'm unsure what to ask for it, what its worth, what the high and low end would be in an auction, etc.
