Incredible artwork from 1911 by Arthur Henry Hider depicting a contingent of newly named Royal Canadian Mounted Police passing in review in London during the Coronation of King George V.
In attendance that day was the then Canadian Prime Minister Sir Wilfrid Laurier, seen in his carriage and in the process of doffing his hat in salute.
The image measures 14 1/2" x 28 1/2" witn the overall dimensions including the frame being 16 1/2" x 30 1/2"
Stamped in the lower left hand corner margin is "Copywright Canaca 1911 by the Globe Printing Co" just below the artist's name.
As to condition, there is a bit of water staining to the far right but not terribly noticeable and approx. a 1" tear in the top center (the paper is extremely fragile). Judging by the watermarks on the cardboard backing and the very old and tiny nails securing the backing, it appears to be an old frame and most likely original.
