This is a vessel that was given to my mother by her mother. It was passed on from my great-grandmother who came from Saintonge or Larochelle, Aunis, France to settle in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada. The vessel then was brought to Saskatchewan, probably in the latter part of the1800's and has seen a lot of cold prairie winters and hot summers since that indefinite date. We are unsure of any of these dates involved except for what is stamped on the bottom, 1755. It's not for sale, however my mother is interested in any value for curiousity's sake. Knowing nothing about this particular type of antique, we are not even sure of what it's made of and would be curious also to know this.
