Hi all...
I have what is believed to be an English Oak Hall Chair circa late 17th century.
My question is this...is it as described above or could it be a late Victorian gothic revival piece?
I know the Victorians had a surge of reproduction Jacobean style furniture and this could well be more 1880 than 1680.
There is not much wear to the piece, but the painted seat looks authentic.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance...

Re: 17th Century Oak Hall Chair
Based on what I can see it's a Victorian reproduction, pop up some pictures from under the seat to show the corner bracing and I'll have another look....BTW 300 pounds is way more than this chair is worth if it's a Victorian reproduction.
Re: 17th Century Oak Hall Chair
Hi Lovejoy,
Thanks for the feedback. I have added some shots from underneath and there are
no corner braces. So Victorian then??
Thanks
