1800 mahogany veneer chest with single door false front design. Door is lockable with center key. Brass ornamentation on all keyholes and corners of side columns. Very good overall condition. Original design allows for top, bottom and all sides to breakdown for early era transport.
Minor imperfections of veneer at front of base due to water damage. A one inch band of veneer replacement is visible on front at base. Purchased in New Orleans from dealer in 1988. Dealer stated water damage was prevelant in the region due to low ground levels and the fact that any furniture located on the first floor of a home was frequently exposed to flood conditions. I had it shipped to my home in Chicago.
