Description

This trunk is a family heirloom passed down from my great grandmother who immigrated from Ireland. ..I was told that it is from the 1850s....it doesn't have a tray insert and from what I can see had no supports for a tray...all the wood and hardware is original...the hardware was painted gold at one time....it is a metal covered trunk the metal has a few dings....the leather side handles have been replaced as well as some of the leather supports for the straps wich are not there...some of the leather is original...very old dried and hard...still has original paper lining inside....missing the latch lock...very beautiful peice....I've been offered $400 for it but not for sale...just want a good estimate of value...thanks for the help
