Description
Greetings

I wonder if anyone has any sense of the value this wee item - it's six tiny safety pins, with the words

The Empire Safety pins

Registered trademark (crest with GG and a cross)

Cannot rust on (?) iron mould

It belonged to my grandmother, who was born in 1910.  I was told that she qualified as one of the first female accountants in England, and I think she was given the pins by the company that made them, after she had audited their accounts.

So, why such tiny pins?  They are too small to use.  And why did she keep them for the next 50 years?  A card with the pins have the wording, in my gran's handwriting, made for the Queen's dolls' house - presumably the dolls' house made for Queen Mary in 1924.
(http://www.royalcollection.org.uk/visit/windsorcastle/what-to-see-and-do/queen-marys-dolls-house.  ) It was made to a scale of 1:12, and contains miniatures of products of well-known companies of the time.   I wonder if the pins that they donated for the dolls' house are still in there, perhaps pinning a tiny doll's diaper!

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or ideas
