Porcelier 1939 NEW YORK WORLD'S FAIR Large Teapot in excellent condition, no cracks, chips or repairs. The Teapot measures 7 1/2" to the tip of the lid. Belongs to my 98 year old Uncle.
This was originally sold in an 8 PC set though individual pieces were probably sold as well. It was made by porcelier. A full 8 piece set sold in 2005 for $1100, an individual pot like yours was estimsted at $300-$400 at auction in 2006 and sold for $100, the opening bid. There is an identical pot for sale on eBay right now for $115 buy it now. Neat piece of history but a no reserve auction would probably fetch under $100 on eBay, a small local auction house may bring more to the right person with a passion for nostalgia. Thanks for sharing.
