It's a Post 1974 reproduction of 18th Century American Federal - Chippendale style furniture. Drexel acquired the successful Heritage Furniture Company from High Point, North Carolina. The two companies operated as separate divisions until 1974, when Drexel Enterprises and Heritage Furniture Company became Drexel Heritage. At auction these sell for about $250.00

If it's marked "Drexel Heritage"  it can't date from the 1940's. The two companies operated as separate divisions until 1974, when Drexel Enterprises and Heritage Furniture Company became Drexel Heritage. Even if it is a Heritage piece it's value would not be that much greater at auction.
