Re: 1940 Chevrolet Business Coupe
Thanks- If anyone is experienced with these type of vehicles please let me know. Would like to know a rough price range on it. Might consider selling. Again thanks!
Re: 1940 Chevrolet Business Coupe
You have a fine example of what is now called a "Restomod". A restored vehicle which has been upgraded with performance/comfort modifications like the newer chromed up V8, the air conditioning addition, and the bucket seats and steering column. The value of the vehicle depends on the quality of the paint, upholstery, and engine work, (and any chassis or suspension modifications which are not visible in the photos). A vehicle appraisal based only on pictures is difficult at best, but my initial reaction in looking at yours was $20,000. My suggestion would be to check out the recent auction sales of similar vehicles at Mecum or Barrett-Jackson comparing what you know about your particular car to the ones that have sold and adjust up or down depending on the quality of the restoration and the options. A quick check at the Mecum website shows vehicles where the maximum bids ranged from a low of $9,000 to a high of $38,000. Based solely on the pictures, it would appear the one most closely equipped like yours (but with a Big block 427 engine) sold for $23,000. My initial reaction is perhaps better than I thought. Good luck
