Description An original Oak Mantle handcrafted by the Iroquois Indians in Western New York. My grandmother purchased it from its original home and has remained in her home until she passed away (I now have it in safe storage). It has been used, but there are no burn marks or damage to it. Its most distinguishing mark is an Iroquois Indian head in the top center of the mantle which my grandmother was told was the "signature" of the creator's tribe. (more pictures to come) It is put together with handmade metal screws and wood dowels (and glue). It has been beautifully maintained and has never been painted/stripped. Looking to find out its worth. Five years ago a dealer suggested I might get $7000 for it, but I wasn't interested in selling at that time. Now, I live in South Florida in a condo and have no need for it.
