2 Antique Paintings

By Kathye71, 27 December, 2014
Description

Both oil paintings are on stretched canvas, beautifully framed and in mint condition. The 1st Landscape Painting is of Houses in a Village and signed WBorte in the lower right corner. It is 30"x36". The 2nd Landscape painting with people in it is smaller 20"x24" and I believe is of a Village in the Alps. It is signed in the lower right corner Bode. I have tried to research the artists and I believe they are both from Germany and from the early to mid 1900's. Just not sure...would love to know any information you would have and an approx. value. Thank you very much.

Re: 2 Antique Paintings

Oil paintings really requires a physical appraisal by a Fine Arts Appraiser and are not good candidates for a online valuation. I'd suggest contacting a local auctioneer for a referral to a fine arts appraiser.
