"SITZENDORF" PORCELAIN OIL LAMP The white porcelain main body is typical Continental hard-paste porcelain with predominately blue applied vines and floral decoration. Some of the flowers have gold highlights. The matching porcelain drop-in font is positioned in the top of the main body. Three cherubs are spaced about the main body, facing outwards and supporting the font on their backs with their hands holding it from behind. The cherubs are naked except for a white/floralsash, and are standing on a floral ground similar to the main body. All flowers, vines and other protusions are intact and unchipped. The burner is a Hinks And Sons, Duplex marked on the black button wick adjusters. The burner is complete with snuffer and raising mechanism for lighting and has a clip-on type fitting. The original white glass shade is round and clear with etched floral inlays which compliments the white and blue floral porcelain decoration. There is a clear glass flu that is placed in the centre of the etched shade. All glass is intact and unchipped. MARK: Under glaze, is blurred but depicts Sitzendorf, Germany. There is also another mark which looks like two '1's (11).

Re: Hinks And Sons Oil/Kerosine Lamps
They could possibly be Dresden porcelain on the bottom. Your hallmark is blurry, so it is hard to tell for sure.
Re: Hinks And Sons Oil/Kerosine Lamps
Hi llucas 11. Thanks you for your comment! Looking at the hallmark again, and prompted by your comment, I decided to search hallmark images on the Internet and found one simiar to the blurred one on our piece. It looks to be very similar to the SITZENDORF hallmark. I then searched for 'Sitzendorf Lamp' images and found that they are all very similar to our lamp. In fact, I would be 99% positive that our lamp is in fact Sitzendorf.
Now I wonder about an approximate price for a pair of these lamps in excellent condition?
Re: Hinks And Sons Oil/Kerosine Lamps
I found a few on Ebay that sold for $250-600 for one. I think if your pair would go to auction, they would bring between $800-1200. Most auction companies take at least 25%, so keep that in mind when you decide on your price.
Re: Hinks And Sons Oil/Kerosine Lamps
Thanks agian for your comment. There is a similar singular one, in what appears to be a worse condition, currently on eBay for $980.00. Sitzendorf. Link HERE
Also one HERE that looks more like ours for Ā£985.00.
Re: Hinks And Sons Oil/Kerosine Lamps
Those are just what people are asking for them. It doesn't mean they will sell for that amount. If you go to completed listings and look there, you can see ones that have sold. I have been an ebay seller for years.
Re: 2 x Sitzendorf Porcelain Oil Lamps
A lot depends on the size and quality of the lamp, some of the larger ones do sell for over $800.00, I sell a lot of the smaller ones go for less than $350.00.
