3 volume set of all the original Harvey comics (Pre-circulation)

By TNGSTUBBS, 13 July, 2009
Description

I believe these are one of a kind. They were a collection of the comics prior to being published. These were a company collection of original comics. They have all of the characters that Harvey published at the time including the first Dagwood comic of the wedding (I think the character worked for the railroad and that is where the relationship is between my father and whomever gave them to him)

Re: 3 volume set of all the original Harvey comics ...

I have seen hardcover books reprinting comic books dating back to 1912. Publishers usually have file copies of the originals which I suppose could be bound together but very often not. All comics were done in cheap newsprint paper. They were never intended to last only to read. Are your inside pages comprised of news print paper,do they have the front and back cover of every issue included? If not then I would suspect you may not have an original.Comics are reprinted in hardcover books and trade paperbacks all the time but always in much higher quality paper not in the original newsprint paper. You may have however the first book printing and I have seen these without a pricing sticker or printed pricing. If you send me a picture of the front and back cover and inside title page(copyright,Publisher etc)I may find more information for you. [email protected]
