Description
No knowledge of this items history. Found in an abandonded building. Was considering refinishing, but don't want to ruin any value it may have as is. Chest itself is in excellent condition structurally, drawers all work and fit well. Very tight fit - all wood construction - even the drawer sides are oak. Only damage is cosmetic. Finish is cracked and there is what appears to be a cigarette burn on the top. Also, so small water marks and fading. Otherwise just scratches from use.

It's in the Federal style, but unlikelyit predates the 1940's. Go ahead and refinish it, it will only increase its value. The "don't refinish" rule really does not apply to modern furniture unless it's by a well known designer. " In the rough dressers" of this type generally sell for under $150.00.
