Description

I have an African chess set made from ivory and teak. The creator or carver is unknown at this time, there are no markings on the pieces. The pieces are all intact, there are 16 wooden pieces and 16 ivory in the set, the kings are 4" tall. The pieces are simply carved in classic African style, and none are chipped or cracked. I have seen much more intricately carved pieces sourced from Asia, but rarely have I seen sets this pristine and intricate coming out of Afica. The set is pre-ban, it was left to me by my uncle who had it passed down to him by his father. I really have no idea what the set is worth, it does not come with a board or case.
