You'd have to test it to determine if it indeed is alabaster, it looks more like white marble or Parian porcelain. From our records A. Giannelli, was an Italian master sculpture and the president of the "Alabaster Craftsman Guild" from 1953 until 1961. We've seen pieces by him described as being made in alabaster, marble, plaster and parian.
