Well, the title just about says it all. It appears to be a work of American origin in the Modernist style. I don't believe the work is finished and there is no signature to be found. I think it's oil paint due to the hard gloss. The canvas is hand wrapped on stretcher bars and fastened with staples. Three of the bars are Grumbacher brand, and one is AncoBilt brand wooden stretcher bar. The work depicts a spring thaw of a mountainous creek with snow still on the ground. I really enjoy it, and I barely paid anything for it. It reminds me of Andy Warhol's paint by numbers style and his camofluage works. Obviously, I'll keep dreaming on that, LOL! This was purchased in Portland, Oregon if the work looks like someone you've seen in our neck of the woods? Thanks for looking, and keep hunting for treasure!
