Your piece is not early
<p>Your piece is not early American, it is unlikely it predates 1850. What makes it appear older than it is, is the fact it was most likely made by a small rural shop. Such pieces were hand made through the 1870's. The "Moustache pulls" on this piece date from the 1870's and are likely replacements, generally these pieces have round "mushroom" pulls ( handles). At $1000.00, you paid about twice what this piece is really worth. </p><p> </p><p>Lovejoy </p>
