antique 18kt yellow gold ring

Description It is an 18kt yellow gold ring with a green gem that looks to be clear with green in it. The gem is oval shaped and the setting is rectangular in shape. It has a closed in bulbous back and on either side of the band connecting the band to the setting is a figure that looks to be a person and on either side of the person are leaves. The setting is large and somewhat architectural looking. There are no markings on the ring, but the gold was acid tested by a jeweler, bus he could not identify the gemstone. I am not sure if it is a man's ring or a woman's ring. I have no information on it's origin.
