Description

Armchair appears to be similar to William Birch for Liberty Arts & Crafts or Heywood Wakefield.  Possibly purchased in Berkeley, California in the late 1890's or early 1900's.  Has been in storage for at least 60 years. The chair itself appears to be in fair condition. The pierced wood circle on the seat is warped and missing tacks around the edge. This piece may be a replacement and not original.

History Great grandparents moved from New York to San Francisco in the late 1980's and settled to farm in Berkeley. Sold their farmland to University of California and moved to Mendota, California. House was abandoned when they died and furniture was moved to storage at various locations of surviving children/grandchildren. This is one of the pieces that remains of my mother's portion.
